Welcome to MAM’s Volunteer Engagement Services!

Volunteers have long been the backbone of MAM’s success. In fact, MAM was even started by a group of community-minded volunteers way back in 1983! As MAM has continued to grow, the need to formally coordinate volunteer efforts also increased.

We’d like to introduce you to MAM’s Volunteer Engagement Services! This newly created team will combine the work of our three current Volunteer Coordinators: Pam Shirk and Adrianne McGee, who recruit and coordinate volunteers for our client programs, and Stephanie Tippitt, Volunteer Coordinator for MAM Resale.

Leading the team as Director of Volunteer Engagement Services is Pete Zagone, who you may recognize. Pete has worked at MAM since 2015 as ESL and Citizenship Program Manager. Throughout his time at MAM, Pete has worked extensively with volunteers. Pete, along with his team, will work to unify the volunteer recruitment and coordination activities, to make it a more streamlined process.

In addition, Volunteer Engagement Services will be part of the Resource Development Department (formerly Fund Development), which develops the resources and funding necessary to deliver MAM’s valuable programs to our community. This department also includes: Community, Congregation, Foundation and Individual Relations, Special Events, and Marketing and Communications. The department is headed by Sandy Staffeld, Vice President of Resource Development, who has been with MAM since 2010.
